Mitchell Manor’s Skilled Nursing Facility has served the community for decades with comprehensive and innovative care programs. Led by our Director of Nursing and active Medical Director, our staff ensures that the orders of our residents’ personal physicians are carefully followed for nursing care, therapy, nutrition and medication.

Physical Therapy
Physical therapy intervention helps the patient to achieve the highest / optimum level of mobility. Mobility includes the patient's ability to sit, stand, transfer, walk, move in bed and/or maintain balance. Physical therapy ensures these activities are completed with a smooth, coordinated effort, adequate strength, endurance and range of motion.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on helping the patient achieve the highest level of independence for their self cares. Activities of daily living include: dressing, grooming, eating, personal hygiene and light housekeeping tasks. Therapeutic interventions are applied to improve physical and cognitive skills. Instruction in the use of adaptive equipment and fabrication of casts and splinting devices are also an integral part of treatments.

Speech – Language Pathology
Speech therapy focuses on improving patient’s communication, cognition and swallowing skills. Speech disorders may manifest as difficulty in producing or expressing words and/or difficulty comprehending the speech of others. Cognitive therapy often focuses on orientation, attention, safety and judgment, plus problem solving skills. Swallowing disorders are characterized by difficulty with chewing, initiating the swallow, choking or aspirating food or liquid into the lungs. Aural rehabilitation improves a patient’s ability to understand amplified speech and adapt to the environment while wearing a hearing aid.

Respite Care Program & Rehabilitation Services
The Respite Care Program offers families of seniors a short break while caring for their loved one. The program offers care and comfort to seniors who do not require skilled nursing care.

When in-home caregivers or family members who take care of a seniors go on vacation, Mitchell Manor Respite Care Program can provide medical attention, peace-of-mind and personal care on a short term basis.

In addition, the Mitchell Manor Respite Care Program offers:

Rehabilitation Services
The Rehabilitation Center is located within Mitchell Manor’s Senior Living Campus and provides comprehensive rehabilitation programs. Using an interdisciplinary team approach, our experienced staff of rehabilitation specialists work directly with our clients and family members to develop and implement an individualized treatment program. Goals of the individualized program are practical, realistic, and focus on functional activities that improve independence and quality of life. Under the medical direction of a physician, the rehabilitation team includes a Facility Rehabilitation Director, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists. The goal of the center is to enable each client to reach their optimal level of functioning and independence following a disabling injury or illness.
